- February 1, 2006 - State of the Union Address Elicits Skepticism and Suspicion Among Democrats and Independents
Results of a national study conducted last night after the President's State of the Union Address revealed that more than half of Democrats (54%) and more than one-third of Independents (39%) reported feeling skeptical and suspicious while listening to the speech.
One quarter of Americans (25%) indicated that they were less confident after the speech with regard to major health care issues.

- January 19, 2006 - Gore Speech Improves "Favorable" Ratings Among Democrats and Independents
Results of a new national study among 822 American adults revealed that a recent speech by former Vice President Al Gore improved his favorable ratings among Democrats and Independents.
The study was conducted by HCD Research during January 17-18, to measure the support among participants before and after viewing former Vice President Al Gore's speech at the American Constitution Society and Liberty Coalition speech at DAR Hall in Washington D.C. on January 15, 2006.

- January 11, 2006 - National Study Indicates New Pro Alito Ad Has No Impact on Independent or Democratic Voters
Results of a new national study among 700 Americans conducted by HCD-Critical Tracking indicated that there was little or no change in support for Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel Alito among Democrats or Independents after viewing an advertisement sponsored by Progress for America. The ad was only effective among Republicans.

- February 4, 2005 - Results of a national study conducted the day after the President's State of the Union Address reveal a wide range in the emotional response among Americans, from pride and confidence, to skepticism and anger.
The national e-survey was conducted by HCD Research on February 3, among a nationally representative sample of 1,041 Americans, nearly half of which reported watching the speech on television. Their emotions were measured using the Ayer Emotional Battery (AEB), which captures the feelings of participants as they listen or view advertising or communications.

The Swift Boat video - primarily a montage of outspoken Vietnam veterans claiming that Kerry has lied about his Vietnam service - was found by a majority of Independents to be persuasive, with 53.89% responding that this was the case.
